DURHAM FIRE STATION #18

DURHAM, NC

Project Summary:

Atlantec collaborated with Davis Kane Architects to deliver PME (Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical) design services for a new fire station. The state-of-the-art facility was outfitted with nine split system furnaces, DX mini split systems, a vehicle exhaust capture system, and an energy recovery ventilator, ensuring optimal comfort and efficiency for occupants.

Given the project's LEED accreditation, Atlantec prioritized energy efficiency in the design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The plumbing system featured highly efficient instantaneous hot water heaters and low-flow fixtures, maximizing water and energy savings.

Similarly, the electrical system incorporated LED lighting fixtures and seamlessly integrated into the new building automation system, reducing energy costs and enhancing overall operational efficiency. Through careful planning and innovation, Atlantec contributed to the creation of a sustainable and high-performing fire station that meets the highest standards of environmental responsibility.
